Vday

it has been a quiet valentines

wasnt intending to go out, was planning to rot at hm n work on band stuff

anyway Vday has been SO commercialised, we get bombarded by e mass media on HOW to spend it, WHO to spend it with, WHERE to go, WHAT to get, it's more like a conditioned behaviour rather than sth we do out of our own free will

and it gets a little overwhelming, all e lovey-dovey couples on e st, holding ridiculously priced flowers dat gonna die in a few days, AND WHY DO THOSE YOUNG GERS HAVE TO WEAR PINK FRM HEAD TO TOE?!?! WHY WHY WHYYYYY???

hmmm maybe it's a hormone-induced adolescence phase, there was a period of time *when i was young n naive* i tot it's cool to wear white and nth but white. i looked like i'm ready to join e PAP =..=

heyyyy everyone makes fashion mistakes okay nobody's saint! lol

i still go thru phases where i get particularly intrigued by a color, but like wat they alwayz say: less is more :D

anywayyyyyy (hmm i have dis tendency to digress :P) i wasnt planning to go out but PJ called to tell me she missed me and begged me to go out w her

i was quite puzzled why she isnt spending e day with Mr M *scratches head* nvm i'm happy to have a movie kaki :D

went out with PJ n her cousin Jiagui for movies, watched 'Fun with Dick n Jane' (we din have much options, i wan Walk the Line but PJ watched it on e plane and tinks it sux, rated 4stars lehhhhh, PJ doesnt appreciate fine arts larrrrr LOL)

b4 dat we went Crystal Jade Kitchen for dinner! i luv e congee!

he wanted dis scallop dish dat is stir-fried scallops, BIG n FAT n THICK scallops, e manager convinced him dat there's only one scallop dish available, which turned out to be some miserably thin n malnutritional-looking scallops lying on thick slabs of tofu, jiagui felt so cheated haha

gotta wait for *inefficient* PJ to upload e other pics :P

e movie was fine. it was rated 2 n a half but performed beyond my expectation LOL

i like e way it mocks at e typical American dream, how it burst, e downward mobility (down e social hierarchy) dat follows, and of course the fairytale-like happy ending (which is essentially a self delusion, in reality e bad guy robs u n keeps e money for gd while e average gd citizen, yes dat's u tom, dick , n harry, is told dat e system's flawed, e system is ALWAYZ flawed)

dat's wat movies r for. to give u a glimmer of hope :D

i had enjoyed e movie. i'm particularly interested in movies/books/articles dat concern class system, social mobility etc.

'match point' was based on dat as well. e male lead ployed n calculated, elevated himself into e high society, murdered to stay where he was.

cliche but i nv get tired of it! :D
