it's all because of Mr Kentucky
fried chicken induced me into skipping the first tutorial of my elective module
back at home (ridden with guilt), i realize (to my horror) there's only one makeup class available
and it clashes with my core module lecture
and we're suppose to form project groups during the first tutorial.
no attendence. no project group.
and we have to post online commentaries before every tutorial (which i wasnt aware of since i missed the first lecture) so besides playing traunt, i'm also guilty of an overdue assignment.
i think the lecturer hates me by now.
and guess what? it's a GRADED elective.
*goes hang herself with a rubber band*
something random...
stuff at ICON (bugis) are ridiculously overpriced
we chanced upon a shop that sells bling bling and quirky accessories. but the prices are not for the weak-hearted.

i like this. but i dont like it enough to fork out $39. cheng the cheapskate overrides cheng the sucker.
so i tried my luck online. found the same pair at $16.90 from an online auction store.
then i deduced it's probably imported from TW. so i searched on TW auction stores as well.
and it pays to be a cheapskate.
i'm getting this:

and this:

from TW
at $22,
FOR BOTH,
INCLUSIVE of international postage.
MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
i'm feeling kinda lazy, butit's high time i get started on DAY 5 or i'd nv get it done >_<
13/12/06 Day 5

another rainy day...

some historical landmarks in Taipei.
*after snapping some fotos from afar*
Niu2: Alright let's go.
Cheng: HUH?? that's IT?? after painstakingly travelling here on a 1 hour plus train+MRT+bus journey, braving the rainstorm and battling the wind, is that all we gonna do?!?!
Niu2: Errrr. alright. we can go in if you want.

*snaps somemore meaningless fotos*
*looks around at the empty space and more empty space*
Cheng: *bored* Can we go?
bimbos are not historical ppl.
it was pouring cats and dogs. dampened my mood. and my shoes. wet (smelly) feet are absolutely the most disgusting thing on earth.
doesnt matter if you are beautiful *flips hair* or not. one can be beautifully disgusting.

snacking on the bus - stuffed cherry tomato. i love the public transport in TW man. you could eat outrightly w/o dodging dirty looks from busybodies.
btw that's preserved plum in the middle. taiwanese have dis thing about preserved fruits. they're available everywhere.

we shopped somemore. elevator girls in Japanese departmental stores. a common sight in Taipei.
it's not an easy job hor. the girls gotta know the location of every shop by heart. they're hired to be walking (and pretty) shop directory of the departmental store hur hur.
more snacking...

a famous pancake shop

cute motto. 'No handling of money with gloves. No handling of pancake with bare hands'. Ultimate hygiene in practice.

waiting for our rum raisin and cheese pancake.

finally~ piping hot, fresh from the stove~ definitely worth e wait~

it's VERY GOOD. totally live up to its name!
it's not as spongy or airy as those in SG (some bad one you tink u're getting pancake, when u bite into it u only get air. total ripoffs). the texture is somewhat in btw cake and muffin. the cheese filling's really tasty, goes well with e rum raisin (HY tinks it's a weird combination. she's just jealous she doesnt get to eat it)
someone import this into SG.
PLEASE. NOW.
more shopping.....

Vivienne Westwood! there was a Xmas sale. not that it makes much difference =..=
more snacking...

time for high tea~ in preparation for our eventual(we hope) taitai-hood.

Niu2 bought e abercrombie winter jacket from the factory outlet shop we visited the day b4. a rather good buy at SG$100.
(she ended up buying another winter jacket dat day haha. similar design. but in different colour. despite our cultural differences, there's alwayz sth common to all girls....)

pumpkin cheesecake~~ very nicely done.
i used to dislike pumpkin, deeming it the inadequate angmoh version of sweet potato. (it's like sweet, but not sweet enough. blehhhhhhh)
the sinister association with halloween prob has a part to play too.
but now i think otherwise. i've learnt to appreciate the subtle sweetness. i'd tell you my taste has matured.
in layman's term. i'm getting OLD.

chocolate with cherry puree filling. also good, but i prefer e cheesecake :P

happy happy happy~

it's a high tea set meal. we were provided with insulating covers for our teapots to keep them warm. how thoughful!
more shopping (am i reminding you of some familiar HK tourism ad? hur hur)....

Taipei 101~

self-portrait. we're pros by now.

Xmas's ard e corner.
*to be continued*
