my mom suggested another day in e suburbans with her auntie-gang
cheng: *eyes widen in terror* just kill me, please.
of course i wasn't so rude. being as politically correct as ever, i told my mom i had plans made beforehand and politely declined her offer.
hur hur.
seriously i had plans. i was supposed to meet Niu2 that day.
she was stuck with school work in another state for the first few days so we were unable to meet-up.

at the train station. it'd be 15min's journey to Niu2's place.
We used to stay in the same city (Taoyuan city) when we were kids. a few years ago Niu2 shifted to another city (Nieli city), which is part of Taipei state but found at the outermost ring so it's somewhere in between Taipei and Taoyuan.
am i confusing you? hur hur.

bought dis at e train station. the pink colour is juz way too cute.
e milk candy has a long history in TW. the original flavour has a yellow packaging. recently the brand reinvented itself and new flavours like strawberry and brown sugar have been introduced. but the old school packaging stayed and only the colour's changed.
did i tell you food and drinks are allowed on public transport in TW? yupz, that means bubble tea on the bus and rice balls on the train :D
but not on the MRT. anyway MRT's only found in Taipei city.

for the higher grade (faster) train type, seats are assigned.
the funny thing is, tickets with seat and tickets without seat cost the same price. the seats are issued on a first-come-first-serve basis. o.O dat doesnt sound very pareto efficient *shrugs*
me, being an early bird, got a seat :D

there's an unattended luggage next to my assigned seat. it was already there when i boarded the train. the owner din seem to be anywhere in sight.
i am scared. i am gonna get blown up.
okay. maybe not.
been almost half a yr since we last seen each other

remember Niu2?
that was taken at the hot spring place
before that it was another 15min's journey from Nieli to Taipei and another half an hour on the MRT (from Taipei city to XinBeiTou hotspring area)

breakfast at Taipei train station. Mister Donut's really popular in TW and Japan.

when it was first launched in TW, Niu2 had to queue for an hr to get her first doughnut.

it's worthed the wait.
the craze has died down but the joint's still popular. the plain sugar-coated BoTi (the funny looking doughnut which looked like it's made of numerous small balls of dough) is a must-try!

on the MRT. de vaju anyone? lol. i tink MRTs are all imported from the same place.

we realized we're both wearing purple shoes! great minds think alike~ hur hur

the hotspring district. less skyscrapers. lotsa mountains.

windy windy day~ still not too cold. but heard a cold breeze's gonna strike soon.
there were many hotspring spas/hotels/pools in the region. the hotel we chose was another 20min's walk from the MRT station.

along the way.
the hotel's up on the slope and i almost died climbing up there.

a very well-known bath house in TW bcos of its long history. been in business since the Jap Occupation. tink it's run by the govt. free for all if i'm not wrong.

finally~
we were not gonna stay overnight. wld be taking the hotspring package dat's all. it's $25/pax, 1hr in the private pool and 2hrs in the public pool.

in the bathing robe provided. it is a jap-style bath house so no swimming costumes are allowed. which means, everyone's in their birthday suit. *winkz*

the private pool. there're 2 levels, with the pool at the lower level with the shower and toilet(both open concept, but i wonder if anyone wld use the toilet in full view of their friends/bf/gf. gg naked is one thing, but what goes on in the toilet, pls stay within the toilet) and a resting area on the upper level.
finally, the sexy sizzling hot pics i've promised :D

wohoooooo.
it had been a fun experience. the spring water temp was ard 42-43C. Niu2 told me incidents when she had stayed in the pool for too long and had puked + almost fainted.
i tot she was exaggerating but later i was proven wrong :P hotspring does make you giddy. we gotta get out for a break every 10-15 min. Now i understand why there's a resting area.
later we moved on to the public pool but no cameras are allowed there (for DUH reasons) so pls use ur own imagination :D

after the 3hr-soak. my hair's wet and limp therefore the cap :P
sth random....there was a grp of Singaporean at the same hotspring place LOL. it was quite telling bcos the way they speak's pretty distinctive. a mixture of English + Chinese and a slight tinge of Singlish accent haha.
apparently the place was popular with tourists. there were Japanese and Caucasians too. it's interesting as you could observe the cultural differences. the Jap n Westerns are open and comfortable with their naked body while the chinese are generally shy and try (in vain) to cover up with the little piece of pathetic towel they are allowed to bring into the pool area haha.
*after another 20min's walk back to the MRT station. thankfully it's downslope now. hallelujah*

on our way to the famous Shilin Night Market for dinner. we are happy people. hotsprings are therapeutic for e mind and soul :DD
*to be continued...*
