had enough of the green theme (one fren commented that it's so glaring it stings hur hur)

although i'd love pink or purple....they're just too....err ordinary

keke. so i finally tried botak jones. after 4 years in NUS, i finally realize there's a branch 3min away from clementi mrt station.

nice.

it truely lives up to it's reputation of monstrous serving size



botak burger - hmm it looks betta than it tastes. but it's a personal bias, i like my bread n meat patty in less extreme ratio LOL.

patty was a bit dry dat it crumbles after knifing, taste-wise it's pretty average, gimme my BK turkey bacon anytime man.

whoopass fries - ohhhhhhh my fav out of e three!!! thou e heap of raw onion was a tad overwhelming (urgh, onion's high up on my food-I-dont-eat-list), e mexican-style green chili meat sauce and melted cheese beneath worked really well for me!! i like!

and yes that's a normal sized plate used for the mains. so it's a frikkin' lotsa fries. only order to share in a grp. or when u're really THAT hungry.

cajun chicken - came as a pleasant surprise. was expecting some dry tasteless chicken breast meat you usually get at western food stalls (which you drown in any sauce available and bascially taste the sauce and nothing but the sauce), but the chicken from botak has an interesting smoked flavour to it and thou not succulently juicy and mindblowing delectable, it fares betta than K**n*y R*g*rs hur hur.

Conclusion - can try. value for money. dont expect much thou. it's after all, kopitiam food :P

oh yeah. order 2 for 3, 3 for 4 etc. unless u're filming a sequel to Super Size Me.


Ohhhhh. I chanced upon a fantastic food site: Gourmet Talks.

it's a portal for food addicts and list the links to their recent food reviews/restaurant visits. most of the members are taiwanese so naturally the posts are on taiwanese food, which is sadly only available on the Formosa island :P

and most blog in chinese hur hur. for those chinese-language-challenged maybe you'd want to give it a miss. but then, just the pics are orgasmic to look at LOL.

a girl blogged abt an interesting takoyaki cooker from Japan

it's a stand-alone cooker itself, with a fuss-free electric heater so no set-up required! just pour batter, roll it into a ball, and they're ready to eat! I wanttttt!!!

apparently the cooker cannot be found outside Japan grrrr. in SG/TW, the metal plate's available in store, but WITHOUT the heater.

so you have to cook over your stove, risk overcooking the batter, or worse burning down your kitchen :P

i realize i have a thing for kitchen appliances. i'd prob grow-up to be become a new age gadget-obsessed housewife hur hur.
