blogging abt Shengzhen makes cheng H.U.N.G.R.Y

Photobucket
horrendous heap of clothes which i ironed just now. the 2 hr exercise sealed my hatred for houseworks

did i mention i spent the next hr mopping the floor? me and my exciting sunday evening :D

oh

and in case you're interested

Photobucket
my new blackberry :D

it's originally silver, but i self-wrapped it in a $2 pirated LV-print mobile phone sticker i bought in shenzhen

DIY rockz :D

anyway i still havent figured out how to configure my wi-fi setting, and i dun tink i'd be checking my email much when i get the wi-fi glitch sorted out

so if you ask me why am i using a blackberry then?

bcos it sounds like strawberry :D

shenzhen-HK photos as promised~

Photobucket
we flew over in mid-Nov. took tiger airway's direct flight to shenzhen. my first time taking off at the budget terminal..which basically feels...well.....budget :P

we touched down ard 11pm, by the time we cleared the custom it was close to 12am. but we went for supper anyway, it was almost 2am when we got home...

my dad, bro & sister-in-law are staying in a studio apartment, which was converted frm a former hotel building...there are 2 storeys within each unit but the footprint is small, on each floor there's only 1 room

Photobucket
as there are only 2 rooms, i have to sleep in the living room on the sofa bed, but i aint complaining cos the sofa bed is surprisingly comfy, and i get to watch tv till i zonk out :D

Photobucket
staircase leading to 2nd level where my bro&wife are staying, din go up to take a look thou

Photobucket
much of the former hotel set-up are retained, the house 'key' is actually a magnetic card

Photobucket
next morning we got up early for morning 'tea'...went to this rotating restaurant in city centre that was recommended in some tour-guide book

Photobucket
my mom~ the weather was still pretty warm

Photobucket
my sis-in-law :P she's younger than my bro by 6years, which makes her 2 years my junior!

the ala carte dim sum buffet wasnt that fantastic bleah... moral of the story....take tour-guide books with a pinch of salt hur hur

after the heavy breakfast i went over to HK alone, took ard 30min to clear the custom but everything went pretty smoothly

Photobucket
luo hu KTR station

i bought the tourist 1 day pass at SGD$20, which allows me to take unlimited rides on KTR & MTR for 1 day

the ride to the city was longgggggggggg, took me almost 1and a half hour to reach Central

Photobucket
finallyyyyy

actually i have no idea where to go in HK, was just wandering ard aimlessly most of the time :P

Photobucket
H&M~

Photobucket
their stuff are quite similar to Zara, but slightly cheaper. girls were raving abt it on forums, felt that it's a tad overhyped thou, or maybe this season doesnt appeal to me :P bought a top in the end still hur hur

went back shenzhen pretty late so i missed dinner with my family...decided to try KFC in shenzhen hur hur

Photobucket
yup yup KFC-shenzhen's different frm SG! seems like they're trying to position the brand as the healthier choice? the meal actually comes with fruit punch (instead of soft drinks) and salad (but unhealthy cheng changed it to fries)

Photobucket
and the burger wrapper came with the calories/nuitrient breakdown chart.

Photobucket
but the burger was nothing close to Zinger! instead of juicy thigh meat, frozen chicken patty was used instead grrrr

the meal costed RMB$28 ard SGD$6 btw

the next day we went to visit my dad at his work place, some industrial park at the fringe of the city

Photobucket
my parents in my dad's office

although it's an industrial park there's quite of bit of retailing & F&B. right at the entrance there's a chinese restaurant which my dad frequents to entertain his clients

Photobucket
we went to the restaurant for lunch. the dim sums were goodddd

Photobucket
this is interesting, chinese pork knuckle served cold with wasabi

Photobucket
and an obscene-looking dim sum with a somewhat obscene-sounding name :P it's called 'Er Nia Bao' which loosely translated it means 'Mistress Bao'

Photobucket
actually it's just chinese bun with custard fillings. why do they have to make things so complicating?? hur hur

me and my mom ordered a small shanghai crab each too. but guess what? the bill came up to SGD$60 for 5 of us only o.O

and the next few days basically repeat itselves....shop& eat, shop&eat, shop&eat.....

it was actually quite a boring trip cos it cld only get that exciting when you're travelling with your family, but i'm missing the food while i'm blogging this entry:P

but i definitely gotta visit HK with frens again! my next overseas destination! (after my Vietnam trip this year end -- which i'm totally looking forward to :D)
