31 Dec Day 4 New Year's Eve~
(things are getting a bit fuzzy. i insist it's got nth to do with age & failing memory. i insist :P)

morning greeting frm Max. yes he licks. even in the morning.
eh. actually. he licks. all the time.

breakfast~~ Peijun's most hated veggy :P dun particularly fancy it myself. but eating beansprout makes me feel healthyyy, think it's the way it tastes so rawww...like grassss :D

it's a little eatery shop run by duong's friend's family in the neighbourhood

yup soup noodle for breakfast again~ one of my fav among all the soup noodles i've eaten in HCM.
and the family is vietnamese chinese who speak only Cantonese and not Mandarin, so huiyi was happily yakking away with the friendly auntie in Canto. another auntie tried to initate a meaningful conversation with me but soon concluded i'm severely language-impaired
later duong told us that the aunties (who spoke to him in Vietnamese, duh) were trying to sell us to him, asking him which of us is his gf, and why dont he just picked one yada yada
apparently everywhere we go, all his concerned uncles & aunties were telling him the same thing =..=
duong is hot stuff mannnn.

went ben thanh market in the morning. nth much there, lotsa tourist-sy stuff. HY bought some coffee stuff and that's as interesting as the market cld get, so we left in a while and went Siagon Centre again. bought more knockoffs :P
nearing lunch i was getting grouchy after all the walking, but fav fren put up with me :D

BFF!
duong joined us for lunch. it's lame. but we got jap food hur hur.

HY alwayz looked exceptionally happy with jap food. she shd marry a jap. then she'd tell you it's a cultural thingy she NEEDS to eat sushi rice and drink miso soup everyday and nobody shd fault her

quite contented with my sashimi rice. i tink i have low expectations for fd :P
(digression: i love my green gap kid terry dress. but it's looking a little worn and the colour's kinda fading. i'm heart broken *sobz*)
*fast-forward to dinner cos i cant rem what we did in the afternoon!*
it's new year's eve! we decided to have a BBQ at the roof balcony

went grocery shopping, everyone had a different idea of what shd go onto the bbq grill, duong found it inconceivable that mushrooms (or any type of veggy) cld be grilled with cheese

starting the charcoal fire. duong and his dad were quabbling over how it shd be done. i realize guys have a weird pride over this 'starting-the-fire' thing. it's almost a turf issue. tsk. GUYS.

that's our humble DIY bbq grill~

slurpz

some vodka orange to go with the grills
it was a cosy dinner with duong's family. duong has a cousin who speaks almost impeccable English. in fact he sounds more proper than most of us who tend to speckle our speech with Singlish

Max joined in the party. duong's hospitable dad who i suspect is a closet photowhore. the signs were telling. he posed for photos. he voluntarily took over the camera and gathered everyone for group photos. hmmmm.

HY building a good rapport with Max. but that din stop him frm licking.

out on the streets again when it was almost midnight. duong brought us to a local club for new year countdown, but we only stayed for a whileand left shortly after midnight

ended up at a

duong who likes to talk abt BGR. i think he'd make a good aunt-agony columnist.
next new year's eve destination anyone?
